Why the document is in Lithuanian
No law sets the language of a CV, so it can be written in English. Requests to an employer are different: under Article 25(4) of the Labour Code they are provided in Lithuanian, and for a foreign employee in Lithuanian and another language the employee understands. For those, use the forms below: they give you the Lithuanian text with an English translation.

What you should know
No law sets the form of a CV. What matters is that it is short, accurate and fitted to the particular job advert. A CV can be sent in English when the advert is in English or the employer works in English; otherwise a Lithuanian CV is the safer choice.
- What an employer may not ask for (Article 41(1) of the Labour Code). It is forbidden to require from a candidate information that is not related to health, qualifications or other circumstances directly connected with doing the job, or information about pay received in a current or previous job. So you do not have to state your marital status, age or previous salary in a CV.
- Pay in the job advert (Article 25(6) of the Labour Code). In a job advert the employer must state the basic pay offered or its range. If it is missing, you can ask.
- Personal data. Do not write your personal identification number, exact address or other data the selection does not need. A photo is not required.
This template is plain on purpose: one column, clear headings, no tables and no pictures. Both people and automated screening systems read such a CV without errors.

Questions and answers
How long should a CV be?
In most cases one page is enough; with long experience, two. Keep only what matters for the job you are applying for and put your most recent experience first.
Does a CV need a photo and a date of birth?
No, they are not required. An employer may not ask for information unrelated to your qualifications or to doing the job, so you can leave out your age, marital status and other personal details.
In which format should I send my CV?
Usually PDF: it looks the same everywhere. Send DOCX when the advert asks for it or when the CV is uploaded to a recruitment system that wants an editable file.
What do I write if I have no work experience?
Write about internships, volunteering, study projects, seasonal jobs and what you achieved in them. In that case you can move the “Education” section higher after downloading the DOCX file.
What does your job pay?
Before you negotiate pay, look up what people in your occupation earn on average according to Sodra, the Lithuanian social insurance fund (the pages are in Lithuanian).
